AURA - AI, Art and Intellectual Property:
Creativity, Authenticity and the Protection of Artistic Heritage in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
As part of the MetroXRAINE International Conference, this round table will offer an interdisciplinary discussion on the relationship between artificial intelligence and art, with particular attention to creativity, authorship, intellectual property, authenticity and the protection of artistic heritage.
The discussion will examine the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the art market, the opportunities offered by blockchain for the certification and notarisation of artworks, and the role of AI in combating forgery, alteration, false attribution and illicit trafficking.
At the same time, it will address the broader cultural and anthropological implications of AI-generated art, exploring how artificial intelligence challenges established notions of creativity, authorship, originality, cultural memory and human agency in the production, circulation and reception of contemporary art.
