BY TRAIN

Chemnitz is conveniently accessible from several international airports, including Dresden Airport (DRS), Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ), and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). All airports offer efficient rail connections to Chemnitz, with one transfer in most cases.

  • Dresden Airport (DRS)
    Dresden Airport railway station is located directly under the terminal building. Chemnitz can be reached in approximately 1 hour 35 minutes, usually with a transfer in Dresden-Neustadt. Rail fares vary depending on the connection and booking time, but tickets from the Dresden area to Chemnitz generally start at around €23.
  • Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ)
    Leipzig/Halle Airport also has a railway station at the terminal. The journey to Chemnitz takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, usually with a transfer in Leipzig Hauptbahnhof. Ticket prices vary, but fares from the Leipzig area to Chemnitz generally start at around €23.
  • Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
    Berlin Brandenburg Airport has its own railway station directly below Terminal 1. Chemnitz can be reached in approximately 2 hours 35 minutes by direct train. BY TAXI

A taxi transfer from the airport to Chemnitz is also possible, but it is significantly more expensive than travelling by train.
