This special session dives into the transformative potential of AI-powered virtual sensors across various fields such as robotics, sports, rehabilitation, industry, and manufacturing. It aims to showcase the latest advancements and interdisciplinary applications of virtual sensor technology, highlighting how artificial intelligence can enhance sensing capabilities through indirect measurement approaches, enabling more efficient, accurate, and innovative approaches to data collection and analysis.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

Nicola Giulietti, received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona, in 2022. From 2021 to 2023 he is a research fellow at the Politecnico di Milano. He is currently assistant professor in Mechanical and Thermal Measurements at the University of Pavia. His main research interests concern the development of innovative measurement systems, with a focus on computer vision and artificial intelligence.

Paolo Chiariotti, received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management from Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona, Italy, in 2011. He is currently Associate Professor in Mechanical and Thermal Measurements at Politecnico di Milano. His main research interests are in the development of innovative measurement systems, with special focus on non-contact approaches.
