ABSTRACT
Healthcare 5.0 is a shift in paradigm for the healthcare industry, focused on patient monitoring, rehabilitation, assistive technologies, and ambient control. Enabling technologies such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Ubiquitous Computing, Digital Twins, eXtended Reality, and other smart systems are empowering healthcare value chains with big data, for the delivery of more accessible and personalized services that involve a plurality of industries – from hospitals to pharma logistics providers to organizations supporting Ambient Assisted Living. In this framework, collaborative and multidisciplinary research can actively support patients, clinical personnel, and caregivers in effectively pursuing the aim of tailored healthcare interventions.
This Special Session calls for insights on smart, patient-centered, and innovative healthcare solutions that can lead to Healthcare 5.0, ranging from hospitals to home-based therapy and assistive solutions, and tackling the issues of today's society (e.g., ageing, chronic illness management, ageing workforce management, smart diagnosis, etc.).
MAIN TOPICS
Topics of interest for this Special Session include (but are not limited to):
- AI-based applications for decision-making in healthcare, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), and Ambient Assisted Working (AAW)
- Design, implementation, and sustainment of collaborative platforms in healthcare
- XR applications for healthcare, AAL, AAW, and ageing
- Smart sensors and measurement for patient monitoring
- XR for assisted therapy and rehabilitation
- Digital patient twin applications
- AI systems for diagnosis and assessment
- Knowledge-based applications in healthcare
- Security framework for Healthcare 5.0
- Measuring the impact of Healthcare 5.0 applications
