"Industry 4.0" represents the ongoing transformation of traditional manufacturing and industrial processes by integrating digital technologies. The concept of Industry 5.0 is still in its early stages; however, some indications are emerging regarding the potential direction of Industry 5.0.

While Industry 4.0 focuses on integrating digital technologies and automation into manufacturing processes, Industry 5.0 is expected to emphasize the collaboration and interaction between humans and machines. This is a human-centered approach to manufacturing, where advanced technologies augment human capabilities and enable more meaningful and sustainable work.

The previous consideration represents the basis for a new concept of a sustainable and resilient digital factory in which AI, digital technologies, and collaborative robotics will establish a trustworthy human-machine coevolution relationship and lead to high-performance, inclusive, and sustainable human-machine working systems.
